Baptism and Membership Class

This year’s water baptism will be held on 21 April 2019.  There will be a Baptism and Membership class held on 7 April 2019 (Sunday) from 12.30pm to 2.30pm.  It is compulsory for candidates or those who intend to be a member of the church to attend the Baptism and Membership class.  Registration is now open. Please sign up with Ps Thomas Tan or Tom Cannon if you wish to be baptized.

Holy Communion

Due to the three congregations giving an update of their missions’ efforts and faith pledge, there will be no Holy Communion today.

Mission Sunday 2019 – 3 & 10 March

We welcome DFF and ZXFET joining us for today’s Mission Sunday.  The three congregations will present an update on the missions’ efforts.

We will be calling for a faith pledge to raise funds for the mission efforts of all three congregations and for the ministries that we are supporting.  Please pray about making a faith pledge this year to support the missions’ works of our church.

Fund to be Raised:

English Congregation mission efforts – $10,000

ZXFET mission efforts – $10,000

DFF/Other mission efforts – $10,000

Dream Makers ministry – $5,000

Maesot student sponsorship – $5,000

The collection of the offerings and mission pledge cards will be after, instead of before, the sermon.  You are free to designate your giving in the attached envelope to any of the listed needs or ministry.  Or you could make a one-time offering and mark it clearly on the Mission Fund envelope provided.

On 10 March (Sunday), the individual congregations will have their own missions Sunday.  Members who need time to pray and decide on the amount can make a one-time offering or faith pledge on the 10 March (Sunday).

Extension Of Unpaid Leave For Ethel Shin

The Board of Elders, on the recommendation of Senior Pastor, Ps Thomas and Alvin, have decided to extend Ethel Shin’s unpaid leave by an additional three months (1 March to 31 May 2019). During her sessions with an external counsellor (Counselling & Care Center), she was assessed as suffering from burnout.

The Senior Pastor, Ps Thomas and Alvin have been providing pastoral care and in recent meetings with her, were of the view that she was not ready to resume full ministry responsibilities. During the extended unpaid leave, she will continue to meet up with the counsellor, and with Alvin and Senior Pastor.

We appreciate your continued prayer and support for Ethel’s full recovery, and remember also to pray for all other pastoral staff including DFF and ZXFET pastors.
